HONDA HYBRID

Hi, i have a 2004 honda civic hybrid and it has been jerking every time I push on the gas pedal and it takes a very long time to pick up speed. Also my IMA battery is on. And they told me i need to change my catalytic converter. Might this be consequences of battery and catalytic converter?
