1987 Honda CRX car bogs, hesitates,jerks on accl or uphill

my crx will do fine on level ground, but as soon as any strain is putonthe engine at any incline at all,it bogs down and kinda jerks, if i pusj the all the way down, it will fix the problum for a moment then it's back and i have to down shift and rev to get up hill, even if it's a slight incline

Was anything done prior to this occurring?

just got it on creigslist, don't know a whole lot of history. it was doing it before i had done any of these things, but what i have changed so far, headgasket, a broked exhaust valve, air filter. i will be replacing the 2 fuel filters and fuel pump/strainer in the morning, i will also replace plugs, cap, rotor, it has new wires. Is there anything not on this list i could do?

You menmtioned 2 fuel filters, is this a carburetted or fuel injected model?

If it is a single carb, check the fuel level in float chamber. It could be too low.

Check the accelerating pump. If it is not spraying additional fuel during throttle opening, engine would tend to bog down. Only slow acceleration would make the vehicle go.
