I recently ran over a curb and my car leaked out its oil. I was wondering if you could give me an estimate on how much it would cost to fix it?

Hi chichix23,
Without a visual of the damage, the extent is unknown and is impossible to provide any estimate. It sounds like the oil drain plug or oil pan needs to be replaced but to be sure here is a guide to help us find the leak.
Thank you for this post I had this problem and had to replace the oil pan and gasket cost me $234.00 all fixed I love this site.

Hi stranger44,
Crankshaft pulley oil seal would be the more likely cause. It is located behind the pulley.

I have a 2001 Honda CRV with 142,000 miles on it. I have had a slow oil leak for a while, but all of a sudden now when i shut off the engine after driving i get a rather large puddle of oil under the car. Also i am getting smoke from oil burning on the engine from the leak. Any ideas of what the problem might be? Thanks.

Hi gbush,
What oil is leaking? Engine, transmission or others?
Where is the leak coming from?
It could be a bad hose or a seal that has dislodged itself.

When seals are bad, it sometimes does not leak while the engine is running, at least not too badly and when the engine is turned off, the accumulated leaks would be dumped off, thus the bad leak.
You would need to locate the source. Most leaks would either br from the crankshaft pulley or flywheel oil seals ( between the enguine and transmission)
Some leaks can be from the VTEC valves.

The crank pulley oil seal would not be too expensive. Parts cost is $8.85 with labor time of 1 hour.
Flywheel oil seal is $16.83 with a labor time of 6.4 hours.
The prive of the VTEC solenoid gasket and labor time is not available in our database.
