Noises problem
2005 Honda CRV Four Wheel Drive Automatic 43900 miles

Hi,

I was recently in a minor fender bender--car from behind hit me in the right rear area of car. I took it into the dealership to make sure nothing was damaged, and they could not find anything other than a broken mud guard.

As fate would have it, that evening I began to hear griding noises under the floorboard when I turn left, and then heard major humming/vibration from the exhaust area or just in the rear of the car.

I don't know if it is my mind playing tricks, but would like advice. The dealer could not find anything wrong, but want a second opinion.
Thanks.

The humming/vibration sound could be from the broken mudguard riding against the tire. Ensure nothing is touching the tire. If that checks out, check your drivetrain (u-joints, differential, wheel bearings)

I took it to the dealer, and they replaced the mudguard. The next day is when the noises started. So, I took it to a local Firestone, they put the CRV up in the air, and showed me that my muffler got impacted, which I guess caused a domino effect with my axle?? They said no structure damage was caused, just the muffler will make noise now. Does that sound right? I do plan on replacing the muffler.
