I am trying to sell my vehicle and upon showing it to a prospective buyer yesterday, we both heard some noise (clicking) when turning the vehicle, applying the break, and shifting gears. I do not have a great deal of knowledge about vehicles, but the prospective buyer stated that it could be the CV joints. Can you give me an idea if these symptoms sound like a CV joint issue and what would be the approximate cost to fix this problem.

Hi otisdaddy,

Bad CV joints will emit a crocking type of noise when the steering is turned with slight acceleration.

Noise when applyiing brakes and shifting gears normally are due to worn ball joints or steering/lower/upper arm linkages.

CV axle shaft left 581.73 and right 593.33 and labor time is 2.2 hr for both side replacement.
