Transmission problem
2001 Honda CRV 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic

when the car is put into drive (forward) there is a 1 - 3 second delay before the transmission engages. it is the only gear this issue occurs with it engages instantly when put in reverse. i have made sure the fluid levels are where they are supposed to be so i am hopeing this is a sensor or something less complicated that transmission failure.

Hi AQsraddad, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation.

Are you checking the transmission fluid while the engine is idling and up to operating temperature-best way to check it is drive around for atleast 15mins and check it again while engine is idling-could be a transmission problem-

Have this 2 sensors checked out -throttle position sensor and vehicle speed sensor the computer uses it as an indications of throttle and governor pressure to command and control the upshifts/downshifts/lock-up
