1998 Honda CRV squealing noise with sharp turns at low spee

When I make sharp turns at low speeds, like turning 90 degrees into a parking space, my car makes a high pitched squealing sound. I do not get the same noise with sharp turns in reverse, like backing out of a parking space, or with larger angle turns. It be my imagination but it seems that the problem may be greater with left turns.
