My 1998 CR-V runs fine, shifts normal but when I park on dry pavement it feels like the All Wheel Drive does not disengage. Only on tight turns. The RPM's drop and I get a shuttering noise from the back. Is there a solenoid not working or maybe the wrong fluid. I bought the vehicle used.

The oil in your rear differential is "Broken Down". The fluid needs to be changed & this will take care of your problem ! It is common on CRV'S & Elements. The only difficult part is putting the oil back in. It has to be "Pumped In". USE ONLY HONA "DUAL PUMP" fluid ! Even if someone tells you they have used an off brand. You do not want to pay to have that puppy replaced. It's only a few dollars more but you'll know you got the right stuff ! There are 2 17mm plugs {Socket or wrench size} on the rear diff. . Remove top plug 1st, then the bottom one to drain it. Replace the 2 "Crush Washers" on the plugs. Put the bottom plug back in, then fill the rear diff. untill the fluid comes out the top plug. Good Luck !
