First I`m currently in Iraq, and my wife`s CRV is giving her fits. She has already been taken by one shop for 285$ for plugs, wires, dist. cap, and rotor plus oil change, Well the only work they did was the oil change. We are working A Better business bureu claim. ANYWAY, the truck runs fine at hwy speeds 55 + but at lower idle is sluggish and will stall at red lights, my friend has changed , plugs ,wires, cap, and rotor, plus the fuel and air filters, which both needed cahnging anyway. But still nothing, its a bit more drivable, but not enough to keep her from driving my car. Now it seems she is told the third cylinder is not firing correctly, any help would be great, i dont want to keep, spending money to not fix the problem, thanks, Spc Joe Cowart ,US Army , Cob Speicher Iraq

Hi joecowart and welcome to 2carpros-we support all of you

but at lower idle is sluggish and will stall at red lights,

Might want to have the idle air control valve and throttle postion sensor checked out on this problem

Now it seems she is told the third cylinder is not firing correctly, Misfire on a specific cylinder should prompt you to check the sparkplug/compression and injector on that cylinder.

Misfires can be caused by worn or fouled spark plugs, a weak spark (weak coil, bad spark plug wire), loss of compression, vacuum leaks, anything that causes an unusually lean fuel mixture (lean misfire), an EGR valve that is stuck open, dirty fuel injectors, low fuel pressure, or even bad fuel.
