While driving, especially after around 15 minutes with the A/C on, I've noticed an intermittent rattling noise from the front passenger side. The noise is not consistently present but occurs under specific conditions. It may be associated with the HVAC system or related components. I've observed that the noise doesn't occur when the vehicle is parked or during short drives. I would appreciate a thorough inspection to identify and address the issue. The noise sounds like the clutch cycling on the A/C compressor. Please kindly suggest what could be the root cause

The vehicle listed above is a Touring model.

Hi,

I do hear it. However, it doesn't sound like a rattle to me. Instead, it sounds like the A/C compressor is working. Does it appear that is where the noise is coming from?

Let me know.

Hi Joe, thank you for your response. Yes, it is from the A/C compressor somewhere.

Is the temperature outside cooler or warmer than normal? Temperature causes pressures to change in the system.

Is it the clutch cycling on the A/C compressor?

Hi,

I don't think the clutch is making the noise, but chances are when it engages, that is when you are hearing it. To me, it sounds like a mount bushing or something maybe getting a little worn and allowing it to slightly vibrate. It's hard to be sure not being there, but that is what I'm thinking.

At this point, I wouldn't be overly concerned. It may be one of the things that we need to wait until it gets a little worse before we can identify the source.

Let me know.

Thank you Joe, I brought the vehicle to the Honda dealership, but they couldn't replicate the issue. I noticed that the sound occurs only in extremely cold temperatures, around -2 degrees Celsius. However, during their inspection at the dealership, the weather wasn't as cold. They informed me that they replaced the A/C compressor shaft and identified a leak in the shaft. I'm uncertain if this will resolve the problem.
