The car That I have a question about is a 2007 Honda Civic lx that my friend has. I don't know the engine. It is an automatic. 1500 miles It is making a shifting noise when he is going from park to Drive. I'll quote him:
"Whenever i put my gear into drive and let it roll by the idle(giving no gas) i hear a grind noise for a split second.
I found out it happens more on a hill when the car's front is facing down.
Now that I really listen to it..its more of a scrape then a grind. I dont think its a grind then u would be able to feel the grind within the car right??I think its just a scraping noise. I mean is something stuck i doubt it cuz then the noise would be repetitive. its juss P>D(let it roll)*Scrape* then drive is normal."
Is this a normal noise. It's a new car and he is just unsure if it's normal or not.
I've looked all over the web and all I have been able to find is torq converters noises.
Any info you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
