I have a 97 Honda Civic EX 2dr 123,700 mi. (d16y8) not a V-TEC. Exhaust Manifold is cracked. My boyfriend got one for me from pick-a-part but didn't get it off a 97, he got it off a 93 or 94 Honda Civic 4 dr (He's guessing) The Engine Code for that model is different in the specs, however when I look for a replacement part online the same part is referenced for both cars. It looks like it will fit however the heat shield doesn't line up with all 3 bolt holes. Do I just need to get another heat shield or do I need to exchange the part my boyfriend bought? Pls help PDQ!!! PLS PLS PLS. Greatly Appreciate Any Help

Probably just need a heat shield. I'm not familiar with "pick-a- part", sounds like a "junk yard". They should be able to provide that info I would think. IF the B/F goes back to p-a-p , he can check the year from the vin, or there is a production date on the driver's door sticker or a sticker on the hood that says "vehicle confroms to 1993 emmission" or similiar.

Heat shield is a heat shield. If the part fits and it is just the heat shield, the only concerns I would have are whether it is a close fit. If so, you can drill a new hole for the one that does not fit and do some slight reshaping of the shield. The only major concern is the exhaust manifold must bolt up perfectly to the engine.
