89 civic sunroof won't close - need temp solution!!!

just bought an 89 civic to use as a winter car. I opened the sunroof today but it got stuck in the open position.

When I push the 'close' button nothing happens (no noise, movement, etc) but when I push the 'open' button is makes noise. From my limited car knowledge I'd say the closing motor is broken.

Is there a temporary solution (besides a tarp!) so that I can just have it closed until I get to my mechanic?

Up on the ceiling should be a plastic cap. Pull the cap off and inside should be an allen screw that enables you to manually close the sunroof.

you are absolutely right...

in my tool kit in the trunk was an 's' shaped tool that fit perfectly and cranked it closed.
