air bag light is on and doesnt go off. However we realized two different things.

When we set something on the seat the airbag light goes off. Also when we buckle the seatbelt on the passenger side with or without anyone sitting in the seat the airbag light also goes off.

When the problem was looked it said the passenger side seatbelt may be cauing the airbag light.

What could be the problem?? Would it really be a seatbelt or something else?

Hello, I'm Danny.

Having the airbag light on means there is a diagnostic code or codes stored in your vehicles computer for the SRS- supplemental restraint systems. The SRS system covers airbags and seat belts. The first thing you need to do is have the codes checked. Just be sure the scanner or code reader you use is SRS compatible to read SRS codes. Here is a tutorial showing what is involved with retrieving diagnostic codes from your car:

Once you perform this on your car get back to us with the code information and we can then properly diagnose your vehicle and send you tips on how to fix. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
