1999 Honda Civic Crack in exhaust manifold

I have a crack in the exhaust manifold.. what do you recommend to seal it? My mechanic told me I can't weld it because it's cast iron.. but I was wondering if I could use a product like "Mighty Putty" (that I've seen in infomercials) to seal it to avoid replacing this very expensive part.

What do you think?

I've seen people weld cast iron manifolds, even though it takes a skilled welder. A product like mighty putty will most likely not work, mostly due to the high temperature of the manifold and the shape of where the crack is, it will be hard to create a perfect seal.
