1998 Honda Civic Alternator failures - multiple times

Hello-I have replaced my alternator 3 times since I have owned this car. I think it is the grounding point where the cable is attached to the chassis. Lots of road slim can get to this area and interfere with continuity. I have attached another ground cable to the engine block to ensure grounding is good. Why does the alternator keep failing.... I have heard another solution is to make additional charging wire to the battery so you can rule out wiring harness. Is this a good solution??? Many thanks to all who reply

The power wire for the alternator is most likely scraping up against the intake manifold. This is common on these vehicles.

Check that power wire.
