Hello!!

I am having problems with my shift. Its really hard to move into gear. My mechanic friend told me I need to change my shift cable, so I bought it. But, now I don't have a clue on where it goes or how to replace the cable. I was just wondering if you could tell me where my shift cable is located and how to change it?

Hi sambroise,

The cable runs from under the gear shift, through the floor and goes into the transmission housing from under the vehicle.

You need to remove the centre console cover at gearshift, remove a lock pin and cable lock clip.

Under the vehicle you need to remove the shift cable cover on trans housing to remove the bolt with a lock tab for the cable. DO NOT force the cable, doing so might bend the pivot resulting in stiff gear shifting.

I do not have any diagrams to show you.
