1997 Honda Civic gas pedal

I took my car off the road for two month ( I was a camp counselor and did not need a car.
Went to start it today and the gas pedal went directly to the floor and would not come back up.
whats up with that..
any help

Hi there,

The cable may have snapped or the throttle body may be stuck open with gum, remove the air intake tube into the manifold and look in side there you should see that the throttle butterfly is closed, if it is look at the cable it may be loose or broken, if the valve is open, it will be stuck and normally a good clean with throttle body cleaner should fix this problem, re post if you still have a problem.
