1996 Honda Civic lights dimming with change of current

when driving if i turn on the radio the lights dim then go back to normal. if i apply the brakes they will dim again and the radio will turn off then turn back on. if i turn on the ac or roll up the windows the same thing happens again. its been doing this for a couple of weeks now and more frequently. basically with any change in current triggers it to do this. thinking its probably the alternator but worried it might be something more. any idea why this could be happening?
