I have a 96 honda 2 door civic hatchback and the trunk lock no longer closes.
I have tried WD40 to no avail. With the trunk open I use the key to manually close and I see that it clicks and the latch closes, but when I try closing the trunk it does not connect to the latch.
I can not open the lock and see it as I have to cut open a section and weld it back togther like in order to see the barrel and lock.
So how can I fix this without cutting and welding back together. Thank you

Hi hondas,

Did you check if the trunk opener cable is stuck?

You can get to the hatch latch by getting the inner trim off. Not easy though.
