Noises problem
1996 Honda Civic 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 150k miles

There is a grinding noise coming apparently from the timing belt side of the engine. Timing belt has just been replaced including the tensioner. However, it only occurs at certain rpm (between 800 and 1,000) at idle. It doesn't make any noise when I'm driving the car. It is present wheher the a/c is on or off.

Might be the palstic cover on the front of the engine rubbing something. Did they replace the water pump as well? The only other thing to do is remove the drive belts one at a time to eliminate them as suspects. Then pull the front covers to look

I'll check on that. The water pump was replaced the last time we changed the timing belt. The car runs smoothly except for that minor problem.

Thanks!
