1995 Honda Civic distributor cap and rotor

I changed the distributor cap and rotor in my civic and it seemed to work i shut the hood and i took off about 5 blocks later the car down reved on its own,so i pulled over to the side of the road and i thought maybe the part malfunctioned so i put the old one back on and the car still wouldnt start,i dont know wat to do,can i get some answer or thoghts[img:0eba36cb9a]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/497104_ingin_1.jpg[/img:0eba36cb9a]
