Interior problem
1994 Honda Civic 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual high miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
While driving, the tachometer drops, the engine light comes on, the car balks, hesitates, engine seems to have missed a couple of firing/iginition cycles, doesn't ever quit but stumbles while driving along "at speed". A bit scary, annoying and just not normal. Have had the fuel filter replaced but no change. Once it jerked 33 times in 20 miles of driving. What are my possible causes? Distributor, points, Ignition cap/rotor, bad plug wires, faulty ignition module, faulty sensor of some kind, faulty computor? It's hard to diagnose standing still. Do I need to buy an code analyzer? Could it be due to a faulty ground lead to the distributor? I'm not the owner but a friend who works on cars sometimes. I don't have an analyzer and do get frustrated with ignition problems.
