Driving AC on, all of sudden engine light came on with temperature reaching the redline. I checked oil and coolant levels. They were all normal (after cool down) and no leaking from radiator. After a week, I drove it out near home. I checked the cooling fan fuse, which was fine. I suspect the thermostat is not working.

If so, can I fix easily at home by myself without any special tools? how much does it cost for a dealer to fix it for me?

If not, what possibly could be a problem? I'd appreciate your help.

Thermostat's on these cars are easy to do. The only tools you'll need are:

pliers for the hose and clamp, 10mm socket/ratchet or a wrench for the thermostat housing, and a scraper to scrap off all the old silicone/gasket off the housings.
