I have a 1997 Honda Accord SE with 175000 miles. It is an automatic with 4 cyl. no vtec. I recently replaced the front passenger side drive axle. I didnt notice any vibration in the steering wheel prior to this or immediately after but it is occuring now. This happens between 60 and 70 mph. Once i get up to around 80 you can feel it less. The front end will also vibrate, sometimes fairly violently, when i brake. I am putting air in my tires weekly but this still occurs when all tires are at 35psi. Any ideas?

Two things came to mind when you mentioned the tires loosing air. This suggests to me that the tires are older and in need of repair. So, first off I might think that they have gotten low sometime recently and that there is a possibility of a balance weight having been knocked off a wheel. That would cause the vibration. Alignment could be another. Yet another cause could be that one of the tires is failing and has a weak cord.

Next thing you mentioned was the vib when braking and that will be associated with a slightly warped rotor on the brake system.
