seat belt wont latch/click can it be opened

i guess somethiing is jammed in the seat belt. it wont click shut. can it be split opened and viewed or does it need complete replacement. help

Before splitting it open or replacing I would probe it with a screwdriver to see if there is anything that has fallen in. Secondly, I would try a spray such as WD40 to see if there is any dirty particulants that are stopping it from latching.
