2003 Honda Accord EX, 40,500 miles, 2.4 liter eng.
I live in Florida. If my car is California emissions equipped, can I replace the aft O2 sensor with a non-Calif rated product, or does it have to have that specific (and much more expensive) part? Thank you very much.

There are a number of aftermarket o2 sensors. However, some meet the california emissions and some don't. The Bosch O2 sensor meets it and is a direct replacement. Not sure which sensor you are looking for of the two on your vehicle. They seem to run about $65 to $100.

Thanks Bruce,
The O2 sensor I need is for aft of the catalytic converter. The non-Calif emission one runs about $70-80, while the Calif emission one goes for $250 or more. I'm wondering if it's possible to put a non- Calif sensor on a system that is supposed to Calif. emission rated.

no its not possible to use a non cal-spec sensor and forget a universal. the cal-spec one should be whats called an air/fuel ratio sensor which is different than an oxygen sensor.

buy it from honda, trust me.
