Just purchased this car, the test drive reveiled the tires were badly out of balance; the dealer addressed that.

However, there is a small vibration in the steering wheel AND the gas peddle that starts at 55 and ends at 65 mph.

I'm very concerned about the slight vibration in the gas peddle. It is similar in charastics to the pulsing in the wheel.

Please let me know what you think. / Thank you

Thank you for getting back to me.

Answer to questions:
1. The shimmy in both the steering wheel and accelerator cease at 65 mph (starts at 55). At this point the vibration in both is not strong.

2. The car, purchased 4 days ago, has a 100 K power train warranty and is a "Honda Certified Used Car" (from a Honda dealership). However, the fellow tried to sell me an additional $1,800 worth of insurances at closing. So I'm not sure exactly what's covered (is the CV joint considered part of the power train?). Technically, it sounds like it should be.

The tires were terribly out of balance during the test drive, I believe they balanced at least the front ones before I left. Anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Richard

Have wheels balanced at tire shop a vibration at a speed interval is always tire or rim. As for power train that depends on language in contract.
