I recently took my car for an inspection. It passed the safety inspection but failed the emissions inspections. The reason was that oxygen, catalytic, evaporation and EGS systems were not ready. I was told by the mechanic to drive the car for a few days in city and highway conditions and come back. After I came back the only thing that was ready was the EGS system. The oxygen, catalytic and evaporation systems were still not ready. My service engine light is not on, it goes off without blinking after I turn the ignition into the position "II". Also, I took the car to autozone and they checked the computer with their OBD reader and there were no codes. What can be happenning? Should I keep driving it and try again? Or should I just take it to the dealer?
