Engine oil and filter replacement - what kind of oil?

Most likely the pitch of the engine has changed because you are doubling the weight of the oil that is recommended by honda.

I changed oil on EZLube and next day I found out, that my car was overfilled with engine oil (4 inches above mark on oil dipstick). Next day (after I allredy did drive about 30 mi) EZLube removed excessive oil. Now my car has strange noise and vibration and over heated. It gone allready1,5 month and feel my car getting worse. Now, when checking oil dipstick, there oil allover high. And it seems oil in coolant . I don't see any signs of coolant in oil. What signs of coolant in oil and oil in coolant? What damages can be done to my car? What signs of damages? How to solve it? What need to do?

Coolant in oil or oil in coolant both denotes similar problems.

Thee is a leak between the system and the overheating most probably damaged the cylinder head gasket causing the leak. You would have to get the head pressure tested and head gasket replaced to resolve the problem.

It has 142000 right now
I want to know what is recommended motor oil I have to use

My Auto technician recommend me to use 10w40 because of the high mileage so is that correct?

if it is correct what is the best motor brand oil ? and is the brand affect in my car which has 142k m on it ??

Hi Dan,

The recommended oil is 10W30 and I would stick with that if there are no oil consumption issues.

Each and every oil company claims their oil to be the best so there is no preferred brand. Just get those that are branded and it should be ok.

I combined 2 diffrent type of oils to my car. My car is a shift stick car. I combined 10w40 with 10w30 was that a bad idea? I did so because my car has a small oil leak and my car needed oil and thats all I had left. What do you guys think

It SHOULDN'T hurt anything, but the question is, what weight oil is in the vehicle now. You should try to avoid mixing different weights. What I would suggest is to change the oil and filter and get the correct weight oil in it. If the leak is small and you believe it is a gasket or seal, they make products that can help stop the leak. See your local parts store and ask what they have.

It won't hurt anything, especially with the miles that are on your vehicle. When engine components are worn such as piston rings one option to help slow down oil consumption is to use a heavier weight oil as it doesn't pass the rings as easily. I wouldn't put any sort of additive in my engine to stop a leak, I would fix the leak. Start with the upper most leaks (vc gasket, distributor o-ring, vtec gaskets, etc...) then clean the engine up. Run it for a while to re-check oil leaks and see if any return.

i recently bought a used honda accord v6 3.0ltr engine and dont know what type of recommended oil to use.i serviced it with mobil xhp and anytime i go on long distances the oil light comes on but its still within limits, i think i am using the wrong oil so please what oil is d recommended oil to use

It is not the brand of oil that matters. The specifications is the most important and the recommended specification is SAE 5W-20.

If the oil level is low, high speed driving might cause the oil lamp to flicker.
