Recently, at night time, I hit a 50-pound steel object on the freeway with my right front wheel and fender going 55-60 mph. The tire blewout immediately, and I was driving on the rim of wheel. The bumper was also badly splintered.
I still take my Honda in for regular maintenance and the Honda mechanic always checks over the car. There was never any power steering rack leaking until it was noted the day after the accident when I had Honda check out the right front wheel to see if it the car was safe to drive.
The power steering rack is on the left side of the car. Could the hard impact of that steel object on the right front wheel of my car have caused the power steering rack to start leaking?
