I took my car to a mechanic to fix the flat tire. He told me the car I purchased had accident and the rear left trailing arm and bushings need to replace to stop wearing the tire. I was told that trailing arm should have nothing to do with wearing tires. A wheel alignment would solve the problem.
Is this true?

If you have a bent trailing arm it is extremely likely that the car is not alignable until the part is replaced. If you don't believe it have your mechanic point it out to you so that you can see the difference from one side to the other and you should see why it would then cause bad tire wear.
