2001 Honda Accord rear shock absorbers

I would like to know if you can include a pic of the area part in question and try to get me a pic of where the problem is so I can see how bad it is to help with how to fix this problem. I am not thing you will need to replace it, I am thinking if it isn't so bad that you get a heli coil kit and rethread it. Get back to me and we will go from there.

thanks for replying. i'll take some pictures today if the weather permits. also, i forgot to mention that the nut piece of the part in question came completely off the part which is why i've been trying to find a replacement for it.

I have included a pic of the rear strut and it shows the lower mounting. I see there nut that is part of the lower mounting of the strut. If were my car I would get a locking nut and a flat washer that fit the bolt from a hardware store and put it together with a grade. You could use a nylock or a pinch lock type (which I prefer) and call it done. Here is the pic let me know if that is what you are up against.

Here is a picture of the part in question. As you can see in the picture, the new bolt, washer, and nut are coming through. It would seem that a setup such as this would work just fine but whenever that wheel hits a bump there is a very loud rubbing/bouncing sound. The only thing that I can think of that would be the problem is that we had to use the washer and nut instead of screwing the bolt into the nut piece that was attached and went inside of the hole in the part. Also, as you can see there is a label with a bar code on the part. The number on the bar code is LRL615400331. I'm pretty sure that the first letter is an L but I can't be 100% because the label is messed up on the end. I googled the code number but there were no results. :(

Ok the noise is because the bolt is not thick enough as it has no shoulder to keep the shock from moving. So what you can do is go to you local salvage or wrecking yard and get a bolt and that plate and replace it. If may be enough that when you have the correct bolt and put a washer and nut on it that it will quit then too. Let me know how it goes.

we got the new plate and bolt installed but the noise is still there. we've had some ideas, that maybe the noise is from a bad wheel bearing, or that perhaps a control arm is loose. is there a way to tell if it can be either of those?
