2001 Honda Accord Need to change fromt rotor

Really no special tools needed. Use the same procedure you would do to replace the pads by taking off the caliper. Hang it up out of the way to keep from damaging the brake line. Then remove the two screws from the rotor and take it off.

If you are having problems with shaking when stopping that is caused by warpage. Replace the rotor with new and don't try to have it turned on a lathe. It might be within tolerance but will warp again much easier.

I was reading somewhere that it would be impossible to remove the 2 screws that hold the rotors without an impact wrench or air tool of some sort, and neither do I have.

That can be the case. However, at a local tractor supply or tool store you can find an impact screwdriver. They are very cheap in cost and simple to use. You place the tool on the screw using the philips bit and hit the other end with a hammer. It will loosen the screws. Prior to that spray some liquid wrench on them and that will help as well.

In all honesty the screws do very little. For instance, all drum brakes do not have the screws. The rotor fits over the lug bolts and the rotor is held in place actually by the lugs and the screws only assist to hold the rotor in place until the wheel is put on and the lug nuts are tightened.
