Car has a P1491 EGR insufficient lift code. I have replaced the EGR valve, pulled the intake manifold and cleaned the EGR port on the manifold and on the head. They were completely clogged.
When I accelerate hard the CEL and TCS light come on again with the same code error. What else could be causing this error? O2 sensors? Possible faulty EGR valve? If so how does one check it? There are no vacuum hoses to it as it. Wouldn't it throw a different code if it was a faulty valve? I have also run a lot of Sea Foam through the system to see if it could clean out anything else. No luck so far.

Hi awest,

Thank you for the donation.

I have sent 2 files to you regarding the trouble code. Go through them and see if you have missed out anything.

Aside from the P1491 code and TCS light the car tends to occasionally lurch forward on slow acceleration. I am pushing down the pedal with no immediate response and then it suddenly lurches. Could this be a EGR issue or do you think that something else is wrong.

When misfiring occurs as the EGR valve is working, there would be a tendency to feel power loss, vehicle would seem to hesistate.

When such conditions occurs, the TCS warning indicator can be triggerred.

Recheck to see if there are any other trouble codes.

Intermittent no response from the throttle can be duew to the EGR or O2 sensor.
