1999 Honda Accord 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive 86000 miles

The light for the clock in the dashboard center panel went out. Is there any way to replace it without dropping the entire panel?

If not, is this something I can do myself without causing more problems? Thanks.

Caveat: I have never done this specifically to a '99 Accord...but, I have certainly changed quite a few dash lights.

That being said, in general, replacing a light bulb in the dash is not too difficult and is certainly within the realm of the typical DIYer. However, the dash will have to be removed so you can get to the back side to replace the bulb.

As to whether or not you can do this without creating other problems, it all depends on your mechanical skills. Seriously, I have seen people mess up oil changes so bad they needed to bring the vehicle in to get it fixed!

This is where a reputable repair manual can be very valuable because oftentimes, when removing a panel such as a dashboard, there are covers and small plates that hide screws. It is imperative that you know how to get to these screws (or clips etc.) so that you don't really create a problem. Hope this helps!
