1999 Honda Accord Future problems

I got an engine check code P0730 [Incorrect gear ratio], I showed it to Honda dealer and a local mechanic and advise was to change transmissoin with $4K and $2.5K estimate respectively.

Can you please confirm if this is the case?

Also knowing the car has 145K miles on it and transmission is not next go bad, can you please give an opinion if its worth fixing the car.

Following are the big repairs done in last 3 yrs

- Head gasket changed
- Engine mount changed
- Brake pad changed

Unfortunatly automatic transmissions arent one of Hondas strong points.Usually with a gear ratio code the trans is having internal issues and will need a rebuild or be replaced.Sounds ike you haev already covered the other xpensive repair (Head Gaskets).without knowing the service history of the car, a Honda is hard to bet against for long term ownership
