I am the original owner of my car and I have kept the car in top running condition. I just recently took it in for its 100K mile tune up. What is happening is that when I start the car it runs for about 2 seconds, then it chokes itself out. When I try to restart it, it does not start. It just continues to turn over without starting. When I let the car set for a while and try it again, it seems to work just fine. The problem is intermittant and I have taken it to the dealer, but they could not find anything wrong with it. The battery, alternator, and starter all tested fine. Has anyone experienced this problem and knows what could cause this to happen?

Scan the ECU for any DTC's, that may lead you in the right direction.

If you find nothing there, when it doesn't start you must test for fuel and spark.

If spark is not present, test the ignition coil and ICM

If fuel is not present ensure the main relay is sending a signal and the fuel pump is functioning.
