Hi, I have a 1998 Accord purchased recently. The "Brake Lamp" light came on; all brake lights are inop except the high mount(center) light. I suspect a problem with the brake light failure sensor or associated wiring; can you tell me where it is located & how to test it ?

Hi clifftex63,

If the failure indicator light shows, the following can cause it.

1. Any bulb not functioning, including high mount light.

2. Bulbs of the wrong wattage specifications are used

3. Poor contact of bulb seats, eg rust.

4. Failure sensor, located at the tailamps.

5. Wrong sensor used. Left and right are not interchangeable.
