When my air is set to vent from the outside with the AC off, warm air is produced even though the outside air is much cooler. I have replaced the thermostat and coolant but the problem still exists. Any suggestions?

I also have a problem with idle and acceleration. The idle is missing and the acceleration seems like i am only under 3 cylinders of power. I have had a tune up, replaced plugs, wires, distributor, check timing, etc. The dealer cleaned the idle body and idle screw and the problem went away. However, that only lasted 2 months and the problems returned. At a cost of $200, I do not want to keep paying this over and over. Any suggestions?

heat and cold air mix in the plenum. There is a damper that lets in hot air and closes of the hot air. i would say that the door is not working and is stuck part way.

on the engine miss are you getting a check engine light? The fuel economy of the vehicle must be terrible.

if you pull the plugs one at a time they may indicate which cylinder is not performing to the best of its ability. The issue could be your EGR valve or an injector.

Thanks for the prompt response.

As far as the plenum, can i access that? If so, is this something i can try and fix?

As far as the idle, no check engine light illuminated. The mph has decreased from 33-35 to 28. With gas prices going up, this is now noticeable in the pocket!

I have a diagram of the heater system and there is a very good chance that this is beyond most do it yourselfers. Now if you still wish to pursue this on your own I can send you some materials via email. Let me know.
