Hi,
I purchased auniversal O2 replacement sensor (4-wire) for my car. This reqired that I splice the wires and re-use part of the old wiring harness.
The wire colors on the old sensor are 2-black, 1-white, and 1-green wires.
The wiring colors on the new sensor are 2-while, 1-gray, and 1-black.
I am not sure how to re-sonnect the wires as the directions are not very clear. It states:
- "identify the sensor output wire to the ECM (usually black or purple). Identify the two heater wires (usually white or brown). For 4-wire sensors, the ground wire is usually gray or tan."
It then goes on to say:
"The output wire on the new sensor is the black wire. Carefully push the sensor output wire from the old connector into the crimp connector on the black wire of the new sensor. Crimp with a suitable crimping tool. Repeat above with the two white sensor heater wires (polarity not importnt). For 4-wire sensors, repeat the crimp on the gray or tan ground wire."
So - I have no idea how to connect as I cannot determine which wire on the old harness is the ground wire, the output wire, or the heater wires.
