I have a 1996 Honda Accord EX. 182,000KM, 16V 2.2L Engine. its AUTOMATIC. When i start up the car in the morning and place the gear on DRIVE the car seems okay to me, but when the car runs for a while and then i put the gear on DRIVE and NOT MOVE, the car shakes/vibrates a little bit, then i take my foot off the breaks and press gas then the car seems fine. it only vibrates on DRIVE when the car is NOT moving. when the gear is on NEUTRAL or PARK it seems okay not as much vibration, I took the car to a machanic got the tranmission checked and its ok, got the upper and lower spark plug seals replaces, and valve cover gasket as well, what could be the problem?

Hi sa3edo,

Get the engine mounts checked, seems they are bad resulting in the vibration.

k
i took my car to my machanic, he said he'll check the engine mounts for the engine and transmission so he checked them and said there fine.
then i told him to check the spark plugs and i changed them to NGK kind.
nothing happened the car still vibrates.
do u think its the timing or the throttle??

Hi sa3edo,

What is the idling speed?

Is there any sign of misfiring?

Is the vibration felt at the steering wheel?

Use a jack to support the engine slightly and if the vibration decreases, I would suggest getting a second opinion about the engine mounts.
