I live in the Atlanta, GA, area and I am considering purchasing the above car from a private seller. The only apparent defect is a gas gauge that doesn't work. What are the possible causes and what are the related estimated repair costs. If I know how much it could cost to fix the gas gauge then I can factor this into my offer if I purchase this car. Thanks for your assistance!

It sounds like the sending unit on the fuel pump, is faulty, you might as well replace the entire fuel pump if your gonna drop the gas tank, unless you can accesss is throught the seat, but the prices vary depending on if you go to a dealer or a regular shop, a dealer is gonna charge a couple of hundred dollars more, than a shop. youll have to research how much a fuel pump would cost to replace it from the shops in your area
