I have a Honda Accord 95 with 153K miles on it. Recently I have noticed that the exhaust on my car makes a very loud noise. Can anyone please tell me what the reasons could be and what remedies would reduce the noise or make the noise go away?

HI there,

Excessive exhaust noise will be due to part of the exhaust system failing due to rust, the car will have to go on a hoist and have the entire exhaust system inspected, you can also get internal baffles collapsing with in the muffler causing excessive noise as well as missing manifold bolts crack manifold & blown manifold gasket, all these can be inspected quickly on a hoist, your mechanic will be able to advise on what parts need replacing.
