1995 Honda Accord How do I fix this.

I have a 1995 Honda Accord and I am having a weird problem it starts fine but when you take off it goes ok untill like a minute later it seems like it shift itself back into neautral. Then I would pull over shut the car off wait and turn it back on then it will go but then reapeat itself by acting like it shifts into neatral. I had the transmission rebuilt thinking that the clutch plates were bad but they werent I had them replace everything anyway and it still does the same thing. So its been parked for a while now and I need a car can you help me fix this problem please. THANK YOU.

Hi Michael5, Thank you for the donation. There are 2 possible causes for the symptom described. 1. Tran is bad internally resulting in intermittent pressure losses. The regulator valve body would normally wear abnormally resulting in pressure leaks.

2. Torque converter is bad. It would lose pressure intermittently and replacement is the only way.

But like I mentioned the transmission was rebuilt already so could it be internally inside the transmission stilll and alot of people mentioned the (TCM) Transmissoin Control Module or the Transmission Shifting Solenoid I would put it on a scanner but I dont have a truck to get it towed down to the mechanic shop for Diagnostic.

During rebuilding, the damage to the part concerned could have been overlooked. There is no need to send the vehicle for diagnostic scanning. Faults with the TCM would usually show with the D4 indicator light blinking while driving. I have encountered at least 3 cases of such problems but none of them had been due to TCM fault. Never had the chance to find out what went wrong but all cases were rectified with replacement of the trans assy complete with torque converter.
