1994 Honda Accord Replaceing heater hoses

I have a 1994 Honda Accord 2.2 engine MT and need to replace the heater hoses on it. How do you do it? I have been told by someone that if you take the upper intake manifold off you maybe able to do it. What is the best way to do it?

Hi ridhst,

There is no necessity to remove the intake manifold. Removing the air intake hose would allow you to replace one of the hose.

The other hose that is attached to the water passage below the manifold can be acessed from under the vehicle.

When removing the heater hose, the part at heater side tends to stick and is difficult to remove. Twisting would damage the heater core. The safest way is to carefuly split the hose at the heater core pipe with a sharp blade to remove. Take care not to damage the heater pipe.

So it can also be done with no special tools too? It looks very tight for someone with big hands.

Yes, you are correct on both counts.

Space is tight and a long nose plier would be useful.
