when i came home yesterday my brake lights were stuck on so i checked the brake light switch and noticed the plunger had had broke out of the pedal so i put in a bolt instead. then my cruise quit working so i replaced the brake light switch, cruise working now. however when i hit my brakes the interior lights dim and if i have my cruise on and turn on my head lights the cruise shuts off. i did notice a yellow and black connector not plugged in im sure the black is a diagnostic plug not sure were the yellow goes if anywhere. but it seems i have a short somewhere but i don't know how or where to look first. can u give me some ideas?

Hello and thanks for donating

The dimming of the interior lights when using the brake pedal could indicate a weak charging system (i.e. battery, alternator). More likely though, it seems as though you may have a loose ground wire at the brake light switch. Inspect the wiring very well at the brake light switch and also have the battery and alternator tested, also inspect battery cables.

Yes, because the cruise control system will not operate if the brake lights are not operating.
