1979 Honda Accord can't get the hood open

Engine Mechanical problem
1979 Honda Accord 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive 53,000 miles

the hood, which opens from the back, is stuck. The cable won't budge, I can't get to it from below, and have pried it, jiggled, w/ help of another trying to pull the hood cable and am stuck w/ a car I can't pop open.

Any suggestions?

Hi creatazore,

If the cable won't budge, it is most probably stuck and pulling would not help. Unless it can move, then try pushing down at the lock area and pulling the cable.

From under the car you need a long hook to try to get the lock unlatched but if the lock is faulty, unless you can find a way to get the holding bolts removed, too bad, the hood has to go.
