Engine Mechanical problem
1986 Holden Commodore 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual
I've just had to replace the camshaft in my 202 after the original fibre cam gear decided to shed half it's teeth.
What I'm wondering is the cam timing. The cam gear and the crank gear both have marks on them. Do these two marks need to line up for correct cam timing? I noticed with No. 1 cylinder on TDC the mark on the crank gear is pointing towards the camshaft so I assume the corresponding mark on the cam gear should line up with the one on the crank.
I know it's a basic question, first time I've ever pulled a Holden 6 apart though and want to make sure.
Thanks
