ESP warning light came on and steering was lifeless?

So, because this vehicle was never sold on the North American market, I don't have any data on the I20.

However, it should be close to the Accent so we can try using the information from that.

Let's see if we can narrow the possibilities down a little bit.

Can you tell me what you have for codes?

Also, what was the reason for the calibration?

If steering angle sensor was replaced, was an alignment done?

Thanks for the video. here is how the steering wheel angle sensor is calibrated which sounds like needs to be done again. This car is the same as an Accent. Please check the images below.

Calibration (Setting up the zero angle)
Steering Wheel Angle Sensor of an absolute angle type (CAN type) measures the angle under the standard of the zero-angle set.
Calibration must be performed as following cases.
Replacement of the Steering Wheel Angle Speed Sensor
Replacement or repair of the Steering column
Detection of DTC codes (C1260, C1261)
Replacement of the sensor cluster
Replacement of HECU
Calibration procedure
Perform wheel alignment and stand the steering wheel in a line within ±5°error.


Connect the GDS. (CAN line or OBD connector)
Turn the ignition switch on.
Press calibration button of the Steering Wheel Angle Sensor.
HECU calibration procedure is performed.
(Calibration records, DTC codes erasure)


Turn the ignition switch off after calibration procedure.
Confirm success or failure of calibration.
Warning lamp must not be lit when driving test (Turning left and right).
ESC lights ESC OFF warning lamp when making an error in comparison with values of other sensors.

Hi, i wanted to know what is that tick noise that's coming?

After turning on ignition even after doing steering angle sensor calibration, that tick noise is coming, please help.

Please help about that tick noise when turning on ignition.

does it happen when you turn the steering wheel? Can you give me more information and maybe upload a short video of the noise so I can hear it?

After turning off the car we when steering gets locked if we move then it make after turning on the tick comes again if we don't move the steering when it gets locked then it doesn't make. Near the blue circle it come what I've marked. And the steering is not properly calibrated i think it's not straight it's slightly left tilted of that it could make? Before i wasn't coming please help. It's tick noise before starting. It doesn't come in start.

I even saw in YouTube doing to other car same tick noise why is it.

Thanks for the video. the clicking noise is caused by the power steering motor going out. Can I ask why you replaced the clock spring (spiral wire) in the first place? Here is how to change the power steering motor (MDPS). Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
